Overwhelm Me: An Interview with AC Marchman

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with up and coming author of Overwhelm Me, AC Marchman. I am so excited to be part of her debut release! First, a preview of her book…

“Allie Marshall has dealt with a traumatic past that she desperately wants to keep buried. She moved to Atlanta to escape her old life and pursue her dream of becoming a Physician Assistant. With the help of her roommate, Livey, she has finally gotten her life back on track and will be graduating Emory University with honors. Then, she meets Donovan Callahan, a sexy and wealthy doctor who Allie cannot resist. Their relationship starts off intense and full of passion. Donovan wants to give Allie the world. But she learns he was involved with Claire Dubois, a reality star convicted of murdering her husband. Will she stick by his side when all of the baggage comes to the surface or will she be overwhelmed and turn her back on him?” Due out DECEMBER 31, 2012

Q. Tell me about yourself. Where are you from? Family? etc.

Well, I’m a wife, mommy to three beautiful children, and an x-ray tech. I was born and raised in Lynchburg, VA. My children are my world. I live and breathe for my family. I wake each morning for them and work as hard as i can for them.

Q. What genre do you write?

Well, right now I write erotica romance, but I am also interested in paranormal and murder mysteries. I may want to dive into those as well. We will see!

Q. What age did you begin writing?

I used to write all the time in high school, like poems and short stories. My mom even sent me some of my stuff from then. This is my first actual book, however, and I feel very excited about it. And i’m 32!
Q. What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

Well, my kids take up a lot of my time! But if I do get that spare moment in the day to myself, I love to read! I also enjoy cooking, but hate the cleaning up! We also enjoy hiking and heading to beach in the summer time!

Q. What was your inspiration for Overwhelm Me?

Well, I didn’t have a person in mind when I wrote it. I had an idea and I just went with it. Once I started to write, the story just flowed and I went along with it! But I have to say, one of my author friends inspired me to write. JB McGee showed me that even normal people like us can write a great story.

Q. Who is your favorite author and/or book and why?

Wow, that’s a hard question! I don’t know if i have a favorite, per se. I do like EL James, James Patterson, Sylvia Day, Tess Garritson, and of course, all of my indie authors are great!

Q. What is the hardest thing about writing for you?
I would say starting! If you can sit down and begin writing, then you can finish! If you can’t finish, then it’s not meant to be. If you keep writing, then you were meant to write that book.
Q. What are you currently working on?

Currently, just making changes to Overwhelm Me. As soon as my book gets released, then I am going to start writing the 2nd book in the Callahan Series, Surrender to Me. Title is subject to change!

Q. Do you have any advise for aspiring authors?
One, you are never too old (or young for that matter) to start writing. Keep a journal of your ideas, just someplace you can jot your thoughts down. It’s a great idea!

Q. Is there a message that you want your readers to grasp?

Never give up on love at first sight!

AC Marchman lives in Virginia with her husband Dan and their three children, Hannah, Jacob and Sarah. By day, she is a wife, mommy, and an x-ray tech for a doctor’s office. By night (and nap time) she is a writer. She loves spending time with her family. She also loves to read. Her favorite authors being EL James, Sylvia Day, James Patterson, and Tess Gerritsen.
