“From Robert Zimmermann comes From Where I Stand, an emotional debut poetry collection. Zimmermann explores strained parental relationships, loss of life, and the despair associated with grief. Alongside these darker themes, he delves into the small areas of life that often go unnoticed but become the hope we are searching for.” via Goodreads
I was given a chance to preview this as an ARC and I was blown away. I’ve never reviewed poetry before, so bear with me if I tend to ramble on incoherently. The amount of feeling that poured out of each poem was beautiful. A few hit close to home. Robert’s heartfelt prose gave an in depth picture of his own personal experiences. He truly has his own style of writing, unlike any poet I’ve ever read before. One might venture to say that he is eclectic. I look forward to reading future works from Robert.
